Home Learning Expectations

We expect the children to be reading at home at least three times a week. They will then make a recording in their Reading Journal. Each week, the children will be given the opportunity to discuss their journal entry with their learning partner.

It is expected that the children should read story books from cover to cover and that they read books by a variety of authors.

Reading books should be brought into school every day.
Remember that reading should be fun so choose something you enjoy! We have lots of lovely new books in our book corners this year and our fabulous library! If you are having trouble choosing a book, please speak to your class teacher.

We would like the children to work on the spellings they are learning about at home. There are lots of activities to choose from in the front of your Spelling Journal. We will be working in Spelling Journals at school as well as at home so please make sure you bring your Spelling Journal into school everyday.

Times Tables
The children are expected to continue to practise all of their times tables. Times Table Rockstars is a great way to help them learn.

Home Learning

Our latest home learning project involved the children finding out about a research area of their choice in North America. The children have produced some fantastic projects, which have been fascinating to read.

These projects will be shared, evaluated and displayed in the classrooms. Thank you for all your hard work!
